The new Club Med Lombok to be built at A'an Bay, Lombok

Club Med announced plans to open their 350 room Club Med Lombok. Spanning over a 15 hectare site with 650 meters of ocean frontage, the refined “5 Trident Luxury Space” will offer dedicated concierge and personalized services for suite guests. The resort will feature restaurants serving international cuisine, bars serving free-flow drinks and alcoholic beverages, Kids’ Club facilities, MICE facilities, an over 50 activities within the resort.

Club Med, the pioneer of the Premium All-Inclusive holiday concept, has announced plans to open Club Med Lombok, the third resort in Indonesia following Club Med Bali and Club Med Bintan Island.

 

Situated in the tranquil waters and abundant nature of Lombok, the new island resort offers families, couples, and corporate groups an exotic and eventful holiday experience filled with authentic and rich discoveries.

The announcement of the new property was made on Tuesday 6 September, with the CEO and President of Club Med, Mr Henri Giscard d’Estaing, flying into Club Med Bali to reveal the exciting news to selected guests and media.

Creating growth opportunities in Mandalika Lombok

 

Club Med expects to cultivate and drive a huge impact to the region with the opening of the brand new resort. “In present day, Club Med has received over 80,000 guests on an annual basis, from more than 30 nationalities to Club Med Bali and Bintan Island,” shared Mr. Henri Giscard d’Estaing, CEO of Club Med.

“We foresee Club Med Lombok to receive a high volume of international attention and clients, and raise global awareness for Lombok as a premium holiday destination. The opening of this resort will also directly create over 350 jobs locally, contributing to the growth of the tourism industry.”

Partnership with Indonesian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC)

 

Working in partnership with ITDC, Club Med commits to managing and operating the upscale resort as part of a concentrated effort to bring in more visitors to Indonesia. Taking into account various qualities such as diverse and unique cultures, exceptional nature and a keen sense of hospitality, Indonesia’s tourism industry exhibits vast growth potential, having grown at an average of seven per cent per year since 2010 and targeted to surpass 10 million visitors in 2016.

Historically, Club Med has actively sought and developed resorts in then undiscovered gems, such as Cancun, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, and more.

Having worked with the government for 30 years since the launches of the first two resorts in Indonesia, Club Med is the first international operator to recognise the possibilities in Indonesian destinations.

The beautiful island of Lombok is part of a development plan, the Mandalika project, an initiative launched by the Indonesian government and ITDC to groom and cultivate the Mandalika into a new world class luxury ecotourism destination.
